F.AVE Beginning Orchestra is open to any 4th or 5th grade F.AVE student with no previous strings experience.
Class meets in the morning before school 2 days per week from 7:00-7:35am, giving each student two 35-minute sessions each week.
Violins & Violas will meet on Mondays in Mr. Brooks' Music Room (Modular 1)
Cellos and Basses will meet on Wednesdays in Mr. Brooks' Music Room.
All players will meet in a 'tutti' rehearsal (altogether) in the Multi-purpose room.
IMPORTANT DATES & DETAILS:
First class for Cellos and Basses will be Wednesday, August 22 at 7:00am.
First class for Violins & Violas will be Thursday, August 23rd at 7:00am.
Violins and Violas will meet on Thursday mornings until the week of Sept 10th, when they will begin meeting on Monday mornings.
First Tutti (Full Orchestra) class will be Thursday, September 13 at 7:00am.

Required Instrument Supplies:
Drop-off: Students are to be dropped off in the horseshoe area.
Classroom: Mr. Brooks' Music Room in Modular 1
Instruments: Students are allowed to bring instruments* the first day however not required. Instrument rental shops are listed on the CSD Orchestra website
Violin & Viola students should take their instruments with them to class. F.Ave teachers are aware that some students will have instruments to stow. Together students and teachers can decide whether instruments will be stored in a locker or in another room. Students MUST remember to pick up their instrument at the end of the day.
Cello & Bass students have been graciously given a small storage room. On the first day, students will be instructed as to where and how that storage will work.
Instrument Identification: Label instrument cases VERY WELL.
1) Place a luggage tag with all contact information on your case's handle.
2) Put another unique identifier, like a colorful ribbon or keychain, on your case for easy identification.
